Invitations - Tea Party

The last time I made any invitiations it was for my cousin's engagement party, I spelt the boyfriend's name wrong and had to print them all over again!!! This time around, long time since those first invitations! these were for a special birthday's afternoon tea party.

I loved creating these invites. They were slim tall cards, I used some 300gsm card to fit some 21 1/2 cm x 8cm envelopes so I cut the card stock to 21cm x 7 1/2cm card blanks.

The front panel was 3/4 pearlescent card that was run through the Cuttlebug and the section paper was from a K & Company 6x6 Isabella pad.

The hanging plate was cut using Craft Robo and threaded onto the ribbon after the plate was adhered to the card front. The bird stamp on the front is a new one from Crafty Individuals stamp sheets.

The insert had the printed invitation information with a few stamped parts to match the stamped images on the plate from the front of the card.

Eastern Treasures again!!......

I wanted to show this one created with same CD as below again. This is another image section on the CD and it made such a modern contemporary card.

This card base was created from an A3 piece of card and was 8" in height by 5 3/4" but creased at the top. I created a smaller verson on the front that housed another greeting. Those black card candy worked well too.

Now what else can I find on that CD, I haven't even started on the red flower collections!!

Eastern Treasures again.....

Since my inspiration from the last card using the Eastern Treasures CD from Joanna Sheen I have created a couple more!!

This one used an 8"x8" card blank which I trimmed off the front open edge so that it revealed the birds on the backing paper.

When I printed the insert I inserted the embellishment image from the CD to add interest and integrate in the insert.

I just love the images on this CD, so hard to choose which one to use next!! There wasn't much needed to compliment the image which I left large on the card front, just some small flowers in matching colours and I couple of pieces of ribbon with pearls threaded on the end.
I had printed the image onto some matt photo paper I had and although you can't pick it up from the photo the image actually felt frosted.

Large 18

Larger landscape card - the actual size was 10"x7" so it was a little smaller than A4. All the numbers, lettering, small scallops, tabs and flowers are cut from Craftrobo, bless it was working hard this day!

The customer had requested a key, so I had to get my thinking cap on to create something key like that would integrate into the style of the card. I found a template in my Craftrobo files and cut from silver mirror board and matted the verse onto silver as well so that it blended well. I wasn't happy with the just the plain cut embellishment so I decided to put it through the Cuttlebug and emboss it, I think it worked really well in the end.

The flowers cut from Craftrobo were embossing to give some texture, it is the first time I had done that but they came out better than I thought.

Box of Fairies!

I don't create many of these boxes any more and have been asked for 2 in the last couple of weeks! For this one the brief was tinkerbell type images, which I think these fairy designs from Dovecraft Fantasy pack worked really well.

The exploding boxes that I used to make a lot were three layers these last ones I have created are two layers but are larger by dimension. Each section on the outer layer is 9"x9" with each section in the second layer being 7"x7". I cut from A3 card to allow the larger design.

The swirl stamp used is a new one from Crafty Individuals and worked really well with the papers. The small mulberry paper flowers in the centre were formed around a mound of silicon. It took a little longer to dry but worked well. I used some glitter - aahhhh!! - but it all worked out well, although I am still finding the glitter!!

Two in One!

This project used two cards really, a larger shortfold card and a smaller 6x4" card. The larger card was an A4 sheet of card scored at 8" to form the shortfold, I then cut it down to 7 inches in height. The smaller card was adhered once I decorated it and opened to just overlap the shortfold.

For the background I had used Basic Grey Two Scoops stamps with a Whispers Lilac inkpad. Onto the pearlescent card stock I had used gave a real subtle background. I used the stamps again at various on the card to bring in the background.

Eastern Influence ....

The images and back ground papers for this card were from the Joanna Sheen Eastern Treasures CD. I have had this CD a few weeks and haven't found anywhere to use it for but the images on there don't have to be made up exclusively with an Oriental theme.

There were some Oriental symbols on the side of the large image but I trimmed those, taking nothing from the beautful image itself. The backing papers are so beautiful and delicate and co-ordinate so well. The picture does not do them justice, I printed onto pearlescent paper and used those card candy's again!

Tall Card - Round Two!

The brief for this card came from a previous tall card that I had created.

The papers and images were the same, I changed some features and added in the small paper flowers. I have cropped off the verse from the photo because this was personal to the customer.

I wanted to tell you about my new find -

The accents in the bottom corner of the middle panel are a new find!! I like new finds! The are called card candy and although they look like brads are much more affordable and come in a whole range of colours with no legs! They are from Craft Work Cards. They are much lighter than metal brads as well so are great if you are keeping down the weight for postage. They are great to add accents if you don't want to use all your functional brads up. You can also stamp on them as well, I have stamps on the lighter ones and they look really effective.

Baby Baby!

My daughters friend was having a baby boy, everyone seems to know what sex the child is these days. I created this for her well before the baby was born and the couple had already chosen the name. I can't remember being that organised when I was having Kate!

This book type project was created with 2 strips of A3 card appox.
5 1/2" tall. The strips split into four panels with the creased sections. One strip I cut to three and joined the strips together in the middle section. The join was not visible once the book was decorated.

Kate wanted somewhere to fit some photo's as well and I created two
photo frames on two panels using acetate.

A back view as well, it didn't seemed right to leave the back blank
so I added in some more animals.

All of the cut out images were from backing paper, I have two lots of Dovecraft baby papers. I used the backing papers for some panels and the images from within the papers, glued onto card using photoglue and then cut out when dry. I never directly cut, I always leave a border around the images, I find it much easier to cut this way and the effect is great.

I used bazzill lemon card on the craft robo for the the lettering. I don't have the software for the CB because I purchased it well before the software was created so I always create my lettering in another program to weld them together and make them images to import into the craft robo.

Silver Lining!

25th Wedding Anniversary this time, for a regular customer. Used that heart stamp again and silver embossing powder this time. Large card with apperture to one side. Had some lovely silver embossed card that I used for some of the matting and layering to add that shimmering silver lining.

Lots of white ribbon and white flowers complimented the silver theme, adding in another colour was just wrong and I even took the green leaves from the flowers to add to effect of the colour scheme.

Exploding Box

I started off crafting for others by creating these exploding boxes. I haven't done any for quite some time but last week I had an order asking specifically for one of these boxes. This one for 65th Wedding Anniversary - 65 years!! Wow! Congratulations to them.

This turned out better than I thought it would. I used to create them with 3 layers but this worked so well with just the 2 and the flower arrangement in the centre.

Clearly 18

This 18th card has a clear acetate front. I used printable acetate and double it to give strength. Used craft robo to cut the numbers and personalised text. It turned out to be a simple but effective card, I reversed the numbers as well for the inside of the acetate to give better finish and it worked really well.

The inside contained the verse and other sentiment with more flowers added. The front corner I used a creased flower to give strength to the corner and it stood really well.

Get Well Spirit

First get well card. The brief only requested a small simple card and it was quite a refreshing change to keep it simple. It's good to create a variety of cards thats one of the reasons I love created cards for lots of different people.

Larger Brief!

This card was requested from a larger version that was created for a colleague's special birthday and the original had a large area for lots of us to sign.

From that card being seen came this order but this is a smaller version but still works so well. The of this was 51/2" x 8" with a short gatefold and 3d effect inside.

The panels are all embossed in 3 different colours with pearlescent embossing powder and I have used the same stamps on the verse panel.

Cut Flowers

This is another large card, but this time I used the backing paper to form the cut away from the design to create a different effect to the front of the card. Makes an interesting gatefold card.

The papers were from Cupcake Crafting CD, Beautiful Botanticals. The two front blue flowers were cut and decoupaged (which isn't something I do often!), I also embossed the whole of the flowers with clear embossing powder to make them stand out a little more.

The butterflies are printed acetate and cut out carefully! although it is difficult not to cut off the antennae!!! They give great effect though.

Monochromatic and Bling!

Black and white 8x8 card with lots and lots of blingy stones. The black and white and blingy was the brief and I think this fits well.

I printed the background papers on pearlescent paper and the black print came out so well on this paper.

Craft robo cut out the lettering for wording and the happy birthday sat inside the card.

Designer Card

This card was requested by a colleagues Mom for the colleagues birthday!!

It had to be wrapped up so much and top secret !

The base was a dark green textured card, 2 A4 sheets made the large shortfold. This card was extremely good for my green therapy!!

This was created in May, busy month for me, the colleagues birthday is the same day as my daughters as well, so that was a busy week!

First Wedding Card - Yeah!

I have been itching to create some wedding cards for a long while and then all of a sudden I get 4 orders for Wedding Cards!!! (Would love to do a complete stationery set some time as well)

Well, the brief for my first order was cream and pink! Fab! All my orders have a colour brief which is great - one of them is for cream and teal so what a fantastic excuse for shopping for all things teal, needless to say that the other half came on a trip last bank holiday Monday to local craft shop for teal beads, ink pad, ribbon etc!

Anyway.... this is a large creation and only just fit on the craft mat (well the space I have left on the craft mat!!)

All off the die cuts for the lettering and hearts scattered around the card were cut from my Craft Robo which is great to detail the personalisation and shhh... but it has been working great of late, its on a roll !!

It was created using 2 pop outs joined at middle with panel at back, which I stamped as well to make a feature of. The majority of the inside has been heat embossed using Hero Arts Fantastic Flourishes and a swirl heart stamp from KayCee Crafts, lovely heart. Used white pigment ink and pearlescent embossing powder. That pearlescent powder gives a great effect and I tend to use it more than clear at the moment, although I have had it that long that I can't remember where I had it from!!! Will have to research.....

I made a frame for each pop out and added some thread through the middle to pop on the hearts. The whole card based took 4 sheets of A4 and I used 260gsm pearlescent.

Used pearls again for adding embellishment all over the card and on these ribbons framing the sentiment mats which were printed onto the pearlescent card and if you are quick off the printer can be embossed. Inked edges again of course!!

Resisted using too many flowers, just enough to add effect.

Another photo of the box too with the front of the card. Just! had enough length in an A3 sheet of card for the box, just a smidge to slice off.

Tall Tall Tall Card

Created for a customer for a 40th Birthday of her Aunty. The colours of the mink and pink go so well but I did have trouble finding embellishments in minky matches in my stash!

It's an oversized DL concertina card, the customer, Sam, liked one of the other concertina cards that I have done but I wanted it to be larger because it was a special occassion. Created from mink bazzill bling 12x12. Need more bazzill bling card stock, it really is lovely to work with, and i cuts brilliant through the Craft Robo.

The frame for the words 'forty' has a backing of printed vellum and the backing paper comes from the Funky Hand - Now That's Funky CD which has this backing paper in some gorgeous colours. It happened that I also had a couple of stamps in the same kind of designs which went well for some embossed toppers. Used pearlescent powder to emboss.

Used my Craft Robo to cut out the lettering and small scallops to mat the small round stamped images.

Pearl beads, which Hobbycraft have a fab selection, always give a lovely finishing touch and it doesn't matter that they are beads as opposed to flat backed beads.

And finally the box was embellished to match, I haven't shown many of the boxes or card envelopes that I created as well but I have made a start now!!

Friends Friend

Created for a friend for her friend! Loved doing this, more how I create my cards for my friends.

This was a shortfall card and a small pocket on the bottom of the long panel to house a bookmark. I stamped a background using butterfly stamps from Crafty Individuals and the other stamped areas use Two Scoops clear stamps. The background papers come from the small 6x6 pads from Crafty Individuals as well and go great with the Two Scoops stamp sets.

Use of tearing and embossing stamped images embellish the rest of the card, with inked edges adding the finishing touches, I love using this technique it adds so much definition and I know others who are addicted at the moment as well !! A touch of lace really worked well for this card adding dimension with button tied with cream ribbon.

The insert was stamped to match which I like doing, allowing you create your own bespoke inserts along with the personal touch of the recipitents name.

Pearl Anniversary

Created for a regular customer for a Pearl Anniversary. The first Pearl I had done so it was interesting and allowed me to be creative with it.

I really liked the outcome although we would always do one part differently after the event eh!!

Lots of pearl card and pearls used to compliment the occasion, along with lots of cream ribbon. I like that the colours are all similar but really effective with different techniques. Used pearlescent embossing powder for the stamped images which added the perfect touch to continue the Pearl theme.

My Dad ...

... had his birthday this month, he is an avid bingo player so I wanted to find something apt to go with this. I found a picture of some bingo tickets which went really well with the graphic I had, its simple but effective and he loved it.

I also made a little pocket with a single bingo ticket inside to put his birthay money into.

The second for Dad was the card I created for Mom to him, she doesn't do sloppy with him so I add in a few choice words on purpose!! She loves it really and I think he does too.

The images are Joanna Sheen, and he loves dogs and these fitted so well. Real Spring feel to them.

As a rule I do struggle with men's cards, these weren't so bad though because they were created for my Dad.x.
